Who Are We
Uganda Martyrs Pro-life Apostolate (UMPA) is a Christian organization that promotes and defends human life from the moment of conception until natural death. The organization was founded in the Archdiocese of Kampala in April 2008 by Archbishop Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga
The right to life is the most fundamental human right from which all others flow. We believe that human life is sacred, a gift from God and should be protected as such since life has its authentic origin in God. Our message goes beyond the fight against abortion, we address all behaviors and practices that affect the human person throughout life especially those that destroy life and family.
UMPA exists to promote and defend the traditional marriage consisting of one man (XY) and one woman (XX) basing on the holy scriptures that say “God created man in the image of himself, male and female He created them” Gen 1:26-27.
To the unmarried, we strongly promote abstinence from sex until marriage and encourage all people to choose sexual purity. Eph 5:5 states “Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure…..has inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
